Unified Communications: High expectactions or great execution?

Quick thought,

I couldn't help but notice how overwhelmingly positive the sentiment was for the topic of Unified Communications.



This could be happening for 2 reasons:

1. People in general are very pleased with Unified Communications.
2. People have extremely high expectations for Unified Communications.
   

So which is it?

Is the industry executing well (#1) or do people expect them to execute well (#2)?

I can't say which for sure. But if people have extremely high expectations (#2), sentiment can change quickly. Think: Dell and exploding laptops.
